Dixon Place, highly regarded as one of the New York City's most important cultural institutions for experimental theatre, has announced that The Unwritten Law will be one of 6 shows receiving a workshop production for it's 2017 season. The show received it's sold out  workshop at Dixon Place's works in progress series this past January. The original show fuses drama, beatbox, spoken word, dance, live music, and visual projection design to journey through a century of stories from Chesney's family's experience from the Jim Crow south to the current realities of the New Jim Crow.

Co-created, directed and choreographed by Rebecca Arends with music by AJ Khaw and Varuni Tiruchelvham. Lighting design by Ro-Z. Projection design by Emre Emirgil, Assistant to the Choreographer and dancer Maleek Washington.
